American college student and volunteer Emilia (2nd from right in back row) was ready to take over the women's class when I left for the U.S. at the end of October. Like me, she had never taught English before, but as you can see, her smile is plucky, the class was made up of wonderful women who grew very fond of her, and she did a fantastic job.
